Hysteria

Hysteria is a top-down bullet hell shooter where you start seeing things when you're nearing death. Nothing is what it seems in these ruins. Plus a little horror in the mix!
This is made during Community Game Jam 2019. Actually, my first time doing pixel arts, music, and doing solo game jam. Depending on the feedback I received, I might make it into a full game.

RANDOM UPGRADES
The ruins contain a lot of hidden knowledge! Pick up these books and learn from it. Every book is always different. Choose wisely on what you need.
DYNAMIC DIFFICULTY
The game world adapts to your distress. Sometimes your mind can help you see things that shouldn't be there, like a handy health potion or a shortcut.
BULLET HELL
Each enemy is tough as nails. You must be ready for any unexpected fight! Never trust anyone, not even yourself.
BE HEALTHY!
You get stronger the lower your health gets, but the world doesn't like it! So be careful!
Extra Challenges
- Try to collect all 8 books in the game. Some can only be seen when you're at certain threshold.
- Try to finish the game without any books.
Need Help?
- You are stronger when you're nearing death, so use it well
- Getting all the books make the game far easier than it should be

Really lovely art style and I can say a lot of time was taken building the characters. The pixel art medium was definitely executed well.
The game design is good I wish it was a tad faster though.
Lol the chiptune music is funny not really scary. What scares me in this game is being overwhelmed by enemies haha
